Retro-Posts consist of content that I wrote in the past, earlier on in my journey. You may notice that some of my ideas, concepts and understandings have evolved and deepened over time ~ I have decided that it is important to be completely open about my path, and take pride in the learning I have done along the way. I hope that it empowers some of you to recognize the need to allow yourself to shed all that no longer serves you, and be open to changing your perceptions, and growing into and out of each stage in the process of self-exploration and self-realization. I have learned to appreciate this spiritual adventure, and look forward to further transformation as I move into the future ~ care to join me?
I’ve recently began reading a book in which the author has taken part in ranting about how people are treating religion as a free-for-all, where they can pick and choose what parts they do and do not wish to follow. In the author’s mind it is rude, disgusting and completely unacceptable that anyone would think that they had the Free Will to do so. It was made plainly obvious in the text that they were targeting the New Age movement, and for some reason, this has struck a nerve with me. It didn’t make me angry, or upset in any way, but I am overcome with a strong sense of sadness that anyone could make such atrocious assumptions about something that they obviously know nothing about. After having read and contemplated the words of this author for a few days, I am mildly surprised that a couple of short paragraphs in a book that is completely based on negative-based complaints about modern society has had such a profound effect on me. Admittedly, it is not my usual choice of reading material, and I have no intention of ever picking it up again; I gave it a good chance, but after having read 100 pages, I see no end to the negativity, and therefore, feel that it will not serve me in any positive way, aside from inspiring this entry.(Note: I have no desire to call down the hard work of any literary professional, and so have not mentioned the author’s name, or the title of the book; this is my personal opinion, nothing more, nothing less.)So, Dear Friends, what I wish to share with you is my understanding of modern Spirituality, and to encourage you to think about your own connection to the Divine. I accept that every Love-based religion holds some truth, but also that much of it has been lost (or in some cases, kept hidden), because of the Human traits of greed, hunger for power, and the need to feel superior. Our world has been so unbalanced for centuries, that it is hard to trust any of the surviving artifacts or literature as wholly truthful, without the slightest Human influence. Because of this, we are beginning to understand that we need to nurture our own, personal connection with the Divine, and find our own Truth within it.Some very basic examples of what I have learned about my own Spiritual Truth, is that I do feel that we should Love one another unconditionally, and that we should be forgiving and compassionate with each other. I do not, however, feel that men are superior to women in any way (or vice versa), nor do I feel that we need to attend a man-made establishment in order to worship our Creator, when we are surrounded by the beauty of the Natural World that was created by Divine Will, which offers us a much more personal and stronger connection, in my experiences. I do agree that we should treat others in the way we wish to be treated, because the Universal Law of Attraction will ensure that we receive exactly what we give. I do not believe that we will be condemned to Hell if we question authority (in a peaceful manner), lose our way for a period of time, or make a few mistakes now and then.Of course, I do not expect (or even want) you to accept my Truth as your own, unless it is a Truth that you have already discovered ~ your Truth is glorious, and I respect it just as much as I do mine. The only intention I hold with these words is to bring to your consciousness the importance of following that deep, inner knowing that resides within you. The one that always, regardless of the situation, tells you that you are Loved, Supported and Beautiful. The whisper is always there, although sometimes it is hard to hear over the chatter and noise that overpower our mind and spirit so much of the time. That, my Friends, is the voice of our Creator, who has many names worldwide, but who does, indeed Love you, Support you, and see your true Beauty. Honor that connection, and accept the positivity that it pours into your Being ~ you deserve it!
